New England General was founded by Alex Dakoulas, a tried and true New England native—born in New Hampshire, studied in Massachusetts, and now residing in Connecticut. His affinity for the Northeast area and the charm of New England was made true by many road trips to small towns, mingling in our vibrant cities, camping in the mountains, and lots of back road adventures.

Along with our online store, we have a storefront in New Haven, CT called Westville General—celebrating the Westville neighborhood while bringing nostalgic New England general store vibes to the historic district.
